Cocoa Beach, 2024

Project type

Travel photography

Date

October 2024

Location

Cocoa Beach, Florida

As a child in the 1960s, I watched television coverage of the Apollo missions to the Moon that launched from the Kennedy Space Center. This inspired me to choose a career as an astronomer. In 2024, I was privileged to watch the launch of the Europa Clipper spacecraft on its way to explore Jupiter's ocean moon.

These pictures of Cocoa Beach and the Kennedy Space Center were taken with a Leica M3 camera, manufactured in 1956. I used Kodak Tri-X, a famous black and white film from the 1940s. I developed the film myself and printed these pictures in my darkroom.
